Singer Zaho de Sagazan won four trophies during the Victoires de la Musique ceremony on Friday February 9. Portrait of the 24-year-old singer, originally from Saint-Nazaire.
Last February in Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique), stronghold of Zaho de Sagazan, three surprise guests appeared on stage during one of his concerts. Among them, the head of the musical section of his high school, Mathias Val. “When I see Zaho on stage, (…) when I see her singing near me, the Irréducibles concert is not far away”, he confides. In 2015, at high school, Zaho of Sagazan indeed joined the musical troupe of Irréducibles. After months of diligent rehearsals, she performed on stage.
“That’s when I realized I was completely obsessed with music”
“She has gained in tone, in velvety, in lots of parameters, (…) the fact of carrying a text. She does it magnificently”comments his former music teacher. “That’s when I realized that I was completely obsessed with music, since I was skipping all my classes to go to music training”, remembers Zaho of Sagazan. The city of Saint-Nazaire will forever be associated with the singer’s career, from her beginnings on the VIP stage at the city theater, until her consecration.
