The image of President of the Republic and of the Prime Minister is improving slightly. The popularity ratings of Emmanuel Macron and Elisabeth Borne continue to rebound after two months of strong distrust linked to the pension reform, reports an Elabe poll for The echoes, Friday, June 2. A first BVA survey for RTL, a week earlier, showed that Emmanuel Macron regained 6 points with 32% of French people having a “good opinion” from him. Elisabeth Borne took up five points of positive opinions, at 32%, according to this barometer.

According to the Elabe study, the Head of State gains 4 points, which increases the number of French people who place their trust in him to 29%. “to deal effectively with the problems facing the country”. The distrust of the president is also losing intensity, with 64% of French people who do not “no way” confidence, a decline of 6 points. This is the first month in which Emmanuel Macron has recorded such a significant drop in this indicator since August 2022. The president maintains solid confidence among his supporters (90% among Renaissance supporters and allies) and is progressing within the electorate of Valerie Pécresse (42%).

Elisabeth Borne gains 2 points, but remains weak, at 24% confidence. This is one of the lowest ratings recorded for a Prime Minister of Emmanuel Macron, notes Elabe.
