The police officer from the Blois police station, in Loir-et-Cher, who had not taken the complaint of the woman assaulted by her former companion on December 13, 2022, is summoned to a disciplinary council on Thursday afternoon May 11, according to information from franceinfo. At the end of the session, a sanction should be proposed, up to dismissal. It is the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, who will decide.

Six months ago, in Blois, a young woman was violently attacked in the hall of a building by her ex-companion. Chloé, 24, remained in a coma for long weeks and if she came out of it, she will keep permanent sequelae according to the doctors. Two hours before her assault, she had gone to the Blois police station to file a complaint, but the policeman had asked her to come back the next day.

The policeman recognized a “misinterpretation”

Suspended from his duties, the 54-year-old policeman then expressed his regrets to the IGPN and recognized a “misinterpretation” of the situation, while explaining that he held several positions at the same time that day. He is notably summoned this Thursday afternoon for “failure to take into account the status of victim”. The man had already been warned by his bosses a few months earlier, for professional negligence.

The young woman had however set up a case against her ex-companion, whom she had met last August. She complained about the actions of this man known for acts of violence, and had even changed his phone. After his violent attack, his ex-companion admitted to having kicked him in the face and he was imprisoned. However, he denies having intended to kill her.
