The police officer whose shooting caused the death of a motorist in Sevran has been indicted for “willful violence”, announced the Bobigny prosecution, Saturday April 2. The police officer was released under judicial supervision. In particular, he is prohibited from going to Seine-Saint-Denis, from entering into contact with the witnesses in the case and the family of the victim and from possessing or carrying a weapon.
The drama took place on Saturday March 26 at midday when a crew from the Aulnay-sous-Bois anti-crime brigade wanted to control a van, stopped at a red light, according to the statement of the prosecutor to the press. The van had been reported stolen the same day. A complaint had been lodged at the Aulnay police station and an investigation opened. The vehicle was driven by a father named Jean-Paul, 53 years old.
