The police in action in the city center of Pau for a man entrenched near Place Gramont

A man took refuge in an apartment in downtown Pau on Tuesday evening, October 25. A police intervention is underway on rue Bordenave d’Abère, the road that goes up from Place Gramont to rue du Maréchal Joffre.

The police forces and the emergency services on the spot indicate that the intervention began around 7:30 p.m. for this man who took refuge with his ex-partner, whom he threatens. He also threatens to set fire to the apartment in which he is locked up.

Rue Bordenave d’Abère as well as Place Gramont has been completely blocked since the start of the intervention. A diversion is in place to circumvent the area.

A similar event had occurred three years ago, in the same street: a threatening man had also entrenched himself using the same process. The police on the spot indicate that this is the same building.

More information to come.
