It was a dog theft with a happy outcome that took place in the Haut-Rhin this week. The owner of a bichon mobilized the gendarmes and the police to find his dog, stolen from his car. The suspect was arrested this weekend with the bichon on board.
Arrested during a traffic check
It was at the beginning of last week that the dog was stolen from a vehicle parked near a supermarket of Cernay. The bichon is a purebred dog whose value is around 1000 euros.
Investigations are then carried out and quickly identify a vehicle as well as the perpetrator. A few days later, it’s a patrol of the local police of Mulhouse who finds him, by carrying out the roadside check of the vehicle sought.
The driver was indeed the perpetrator. The bichon was also found on board. It was immediately returned to its owner.
