It’s a very strong film about the passing of time with Josiane Balasko and Hélène Vincent. Sometimes funny, moving and sad, the film takes viewers on a mushroom hunt.

Agree for the walk in the forest but Josiane Balasko and Hélène Vincent do not agree for the boletus hunt unless it is François Ozon who suggests it. The director’s latest film, however, is not a comedy. The film’s starting point is a sort of Proust madeleine which is said to be poisoned: “I had a great aunt that I loved very much who had organized a family meal. She had picked mushrooms during the day and in the evening she made her mushroom meal. Half the family got sick, some even ended up in the hospital… except for her who hadn’t eaten any”remembers the director.

When Autumn Comes is the story of two friends locked in toxic family relationships: “It’s not easy for quite different reasons in each case”comments Josiane Balasko. In Burgundy, the two middle-aged women are drawn into a mysterious and thrilling thriller.
