The PLQ offers a deconfinement unit

To “stop playing yo-yo” and give more predictability to sectors of the economy, the Quebec Liberal Party (PLQ) suggests a five-point approach, including the creation of a unit with the mandate to prepare in view of a next wave of COVID-19.

With a view to learning to live with the virus and avoiding closing everything up, the liberal leader Dominique Anglade wants the creation of the “COVIE-19” squad.

This would aim to coordinate efforts to reopen and maintain activities with partners from different sectors, explained Ms. Anglade at a press conference on Sunday.

The PLQ also wants sectoral and predictable deconfinement plans, as well as long-term supply plans for protective equipment, screening tests, vaccines, drugs and ventilation equipment;

The Liberals also want the establishment of an independent scientific committee headed by the chief scientist of Quebec. In the same spirit, the party reiterates its request to see Public Health and elected politicians hold separate press briefings.
