Tobogganing, skiing, skating or snowshoeing: activities to practice in Pilat, a stone’s throw from Saint-Etienne. A family ski area, which has evolved with history.
Le Pilat is a large playground comprising several Nordic areas in three municipalities: Burdignes, Saint-Régis-du-Coin and Le Bessat. Focus on the latter and its surroundings.
Less than 30 minutes from Saint-Etienne, at the Le Bessat – Les Grands Bois Nordic area, come and practice sledding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
You can introduce the little ones to the ski lift, with a 300m tow line, a good way to discover the ski lifts.
A picnic room is also available to keep you warm.

During a walk on the side of The Jasserie, 15 minutes from Bessat, you can see the remains of ski lifts. Structures that remind us of the times when downhill skiing at La Jasserie was possible.
The first Jasserie ski lift is located a few hundred meters from the inn-restaurant, on the Panisset meadow, only the pylons remain.
You can also see the ski lifts installed in front of the hostel, in the direction of Crêt de la Perdrix, which operated until the 1990s!
