The players of the France team announced in a press release sent to AFP, having submitted, Wednesday, October 26, a modified draft convention of image rights to the president of the French Football Federation (FFF), Noël Le Graet.
Represented by their captain Hugo Lloris, the Blues want the new text to come into force in January 2023, after the World Cup in Qatar (November 20-December 18), for a period of “two years, so that it can be adapted at the end of each major competition [Coupe du monde et Euro]“.
Last March, Kylian Mbappé opposed the current 12-year-old convention by threatening to boycott certain advertising operations of the France team. On September 19, the Paris Saint-Germain striker announced his non-participation at a photo shootforcing the FFF on the same day, to commit “to revise as soon as possible, the convention inherent to the rights to the image“.
