Start of registrations in one month. The platform for obtaining the QR codes necessary to cross certain security perimeters around competition sites, during the Olympic Games in Paris, will be put online on May 10, announced Gérald Darmanin, Monday April 8, in the columns of Parisian. It relates to “several tens of thousands of people: residents, rights holders (guests), consumers, people working in the sector”.

“If you have not registered, you will not be able to enter”, warns the Minister of the Interior. This document will be necessary one week before the opening ceremony. “Pedestrian or non-pedestrian, you will have to present your QR code and your identity document during the check. Once within this perimeter, your freedom will be total.”

The Internet will not be the only way to register on the platform. “With Paris town hall, we will go door to door, drop leaflets in mailboxes, help people register, explains the minister. The police will make discernment: if a 95-year-old man arrives with his identity document, we will do the work with him.” Gérald Darmanin also recalls that 45,000 police officers and gendarmes will monitor the security zone throughout the period.
