The “Pictave Warrior”, a race in support of the war wounded in Poitiers

The “Pictav’ Warrior“is organized Saturday, September 17 by the Marine Tank Infantry Regiment (RICM) at the Biard military camp, near Poitiers. The objective is twofold according to Colonel Jean-Hugues Delcourt”raise awareness and raise funds to support and improve the living conditions of war wounded. Dozens of soldiers are injured in operations or training each year in France.

500 solidarity participants

Hundreds of people participate in the race “even if it’s for fun, we do it for them, the injured, because it’s important to us“, underline Jean-Claude and Marie. Each runner jumps, climbs, climbs or crawls. Nothing can stop Tiphaine, president of the Regiment’s family association. “We didn’t let go, we helped each other like the wounded. We gave it all!“, she rejoices.

Registration costs 18 euros, and most of the profits are donated to various associations helping war wounded.
