Robotics occupies a growing place everywhere. Will we ever be able to develop perfect copies of the man? In any case, one thing is certain for Xavier Durringer, “everything will be more and more automated, in the macroscopic domain, as in that of the infinitely small. What consequences will this have for humans? It was worth asking the question”
The story of his film “The Perfect Man” is that of Florence, who, overwhelmed by her family life and her work, decides to buy a robot with human appearance and perfect physique. It meets all his expectations: maintaining the house, taking care of the children, and more… But the robot goes fast arouse jealousy at Franck, her unemployed actor husband who cares. For fear of losing his wife, Franck decides to take matters into his own hands, especially since the robot seems to find malicious pleasure in causing trouble in their relationship!
What a place a man so immature and so macho can he keep in a house where a humanoid now accomplishes, perfectly and without qualms, all the chores he used to avoid? This is the first question of the film, behind which arises another, which arises from it: can we continue to exist when we rely entirely on a machine who does everything for you and to perfection?
In the casting? Valérie Karsenti, Didier Bourdon for the couple and Pierre-François Martin-Laval as the robot.
