The first difficulties arise. After an eventful second stage, marked by several falls within the peloton, the riders take to the roads of the Marne for the third stage of the Tour de France women 2022, Tuesday July 26. Today’s stage, described as “hilly”, connects Reims to Epernay on a 133.6 kilometer route. The second part of the race promises to be lively with four climbs on the program, including that of Mutigny (900 meters at 12.2%, with a passage of more than 24% in the middle).
The wearer of the yellow jersey, Marianne Vos (Jumbo-Visma) will have to be wary of her main competitors. In particular the Danish Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (FDJ-Suez-Futuroscope), a specialist in hilly stages, or the Dutch puncher Demi Vollering (SD Worx). The start of the race is scheduled around 1 p.m.
