Opening up your professional list is one thing, confirming it in the process is another. The day after his great solo victory during the first stage of this Tour of the Alps, Geoffrey Bouchard (AG2R-Citroën) will try to confirm during the second meeting, Tuesday April 19. After the departure of San Martino di Castrozza, the peloton will directly come up against the robust Passo Rolle (21.2 km at 5.8%), second category pass culminating at 1984 meters above sea level. The slopes of the Passo della Mendola, classified in the first category, will be even more robust (16 km at 6.5%).

But there will be no more difficulty from 50 km before the finish line, only a long descent of 20 terminals before Lana. The favourites, frustrated by the first stage, will have to try from afar to create gaps. But the fighters have in front of them a fertile ground for escape.
