The organization of the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament will announce Thursday that it will hold its 2022 edition of the 1er to May 15 rather than February, learned The newspaper.
The management has been thinking for several weeks about the holding of the event, due to the upheavals brought about by the pandemic.
The prestigious minor hockey tournament was scheduled to be held February 9-20, and until the end of December, that remained the organization’s Plan A.
Switch to plan B
But the evolution of the pandemic had forced Patrick Dom and his team to think about alternative scenarios.
In the last few days, we have chosen to switch to plan B. The newspaper has learned from a reliable source that the competition which brings together some 2,000 players aged 11 and 12 will be moved to early May.
Joined Wednesday, the general manager Patrick Dom simply reiterated that he is working actively to ensure the holding of the Tournament.
“We are still working to save the Tournament. We have plenty of possibilities and we try to find the best, ”he limited himself to saying.
The calendar of events presented at the Videotron Center had to be reorganized to make it possible to present the Tournament, but solutions were found for the beach from May 1 to 15.
Volunteers will be present
The many partners of the Tournament were consulted and the volunteers also responded present for an edition in May.
