While the public eligible for a second booster dose of vaccine against Covid-19 is widening, the president of the Scientific Council affirms on franceinfo, Friday July 22, that “the peak of the seventh wave has passed in terms of contamination”. Jean-François Delfraissy, however, specifies that this peak “did not go to the hospital”.

“We will continue to have a significant impact at the hospital level because there is always a lag of about fifteen days between contaminations and hospitalizations”, specifies the one who will bow out on July 31. “We will continue to have a significant impact on conventional hospitalizations”.

“There may be a moment of tension in certain French areas since there is a significant movement of populations with the holidays”, he continues, citing the coast, Languedoc or the South-West, “but overall, we will pass this seventh wave”.
