New twist in the Pogba affair. The Paris prosecutor’s office announced, Friday, September 2, the opening of a judicial investigation against X, after the complaint filed by Paul Pogba with the Turin prosecutor’s office. The investigations into the extortion denounced by the star of the French football team and Juventus Turin have been entrusted to two investigating judges from the Paris court.

In detail, the information was opened for “extortion with a weapon in an organized gang”, “kidnapping or kidnapping with release before the seventh day in an organized gang to prepare or facilitate the commission of a crime or an offence” and “participation in a criminal association with a view to committing crime,” said Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau.

Paul Pogba says he has been trapped by childhood friends

A preliminary investigation had already been opened by the Paris prosecutor’s office on August 3. This investigation focused “on various facts of which Mr. Pogba would have been the victim between March and July 2022”, according to the prosecutor. The investigation was entrusted to the Central Office for the Fight against Organized Crime (OCLCO) of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ).

During various hearings, Paul Pogba was able to confide to the investigators that he had been trapped in particular by childhood friends and two hooded men armed with assault rifles. According to him, the gang demanded 13 million euros from him and has intimidated him several times since, to the Juventus training center in Turin, where he told the police that he recognized his brother Mathias Pogba among the suspects.
