After the revelations of “Special Envoy” implicating the former minister Nicolas Hulot, the Paris prosecutor announced, Friday, November 26, the opening of a preliminary investigation for “rape” and “sexual assault” for “facts likely to have been committed in Paris with regard to a minor victim”, reports the Paris prosecutor, Laure Beccuau, in a press release.

The investigations were entrusted to the brigade for the protection of minors (BPM) of the regional directorate of the judicial police (DRPJ). “They will endeavor to determine whether the facts denounced can characterize a criminal offense and whether, in view of their seniority, the prescription of public action has been acquired”, adds the press release.

In a 62-minute report of “Special Envoy” broadcast Thursday, November 25, several women accused the former Minister of the Ecological Transition of sexual assault, committed between 1989 and 2001. THEhe former host Maureen Dor and an ex-employee of TF1 have also transmitted written testimonies on facts of which they accuse Nicolas Hulot.

As early as Wednesday, before the documentary was broadcast, Nicolas Hulot had mentioned “false claims” and announced his withdrawal from “public life”. The Paris prosecutor’s office has made a habit of systematically opening investigations into accusations of sexual violence against minors, even if the facts seem time-barred, in order to verify the facts and to look for possible other non-prescribed assaults.
