Women’s rights: the Paris police chief announces that he will take legal action after the “Nous vivres” collective was targeted during the March 8 demonstration

Laurent Nuñez, Paris police prefect, was the guest of “4 Vérités” on France 2, Monday March 11.
A feminist demonstration took place in Paris on Friday March 8, on the occasion of International Women’s Day. “Kerosene is not for planes, it’s for burning cops”, protesters chanted. On Sunday, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, announced via X to take legal action.
Guest of “4 Truths” on Monday, the Paris police prefect said “unworthy” by these words “unspeakable and intolerable”. “It’s the big International Women’s Day event in Paris, so we’re quite far from the theme”adds Laurent Nuñez. “We are obviously very satisfied that the minister has taken legal action, and all investigations will be carried out to find the authors of these comments”he assures.
The association “We will live” extracted from the demonstration
The Paris police chief also indicates that the association “We will live”, created after the Hamas attack in Israel October 7 to denounce the sexual violence committed by members of the Islamist organization, had to be removed by the police from the demonstration. This collective received “first insults from supporters of the pro-Palestinian cause, then throwing projectiles”explains the Paris police prefect. “I had to deploy the police to exfiltrate them and, ultimately, take them out of the demonstration, which is intolerable”he laments. “I contacted the Paris public prosecutor with specific names of people, since we have identified the perpetrators”announces Laurent Nuñez.
