“The Paradise Club”, Claudia Bouvette

Claudia Bouvette was 15 when she took part in mixmania ; a decade and an EP later, she takes the plunge with The Paradise Club, her first album which brings together pop songs, fortunately not too mature, the teenager in her not having calmed down yet. In terms of composition, Bouvette was able to count on the help of Les Louanges (Miss Blumenfeldone of the two very good songs in French, with Touchdown and the acoustic ballad 1000 terminals), Kodakludo (I Don’t Wanna Say Goodbye, very Billie Eilish in the genre) and especially Connor Seidel, also co-director. The result convinces, even seduces: this electronic pop drawing on modern rap and pop-rock, a little like Caroline Polachek, but without her musical audacity, is measured without blushing by what is being done further south. The drooler Shower bagthe romantic I’m sorrythe languorous funk groove of Solo Nightwe go from one atmosphere to another, letting ourselves be surprised by the pleasant lightness of the compositions and the finesse of the realization.
