Fall is the perfect season to discover the magnificent landscapes of our beautiful Quebec, which take on flamboyant hues over the weeks. To make sure you don’t miss any of the most beautiful places to admire, take the Panoramic Sheds Circuit, run by the MRC du Haut-Saint-François, is the smart way to explore the region and discover its most beautiful finery.

The Eastern Townships region is one of the most popular with Quebecers, who go there for its majestic panorama shaped by its forests, lakes, rivers, mountains and valleys. It is also a place that stands out for its rich historical and artistic heritage. The project of sheds panoramas aims to highlight the cultural and human attractions of the region. From the municipality of Weedon to the village of Saint-Isidore-de-Clifton, this route offers nine destinations which are highlighted thanks to the different sheds, open windows on the discovery of each chosen place. To know the route, we consult the geographical map on the site of the circuit, which indicates the precise places where the pavilions are located, which allows us to locate them quickly when we walk in the region.

This tourism initiative is that of the Local Development Center (CLD) of Haut-Saint-François, inaugurated in concert with several municipalities in the region. The sheds, they were designed by the designers of the firm Pittoresco, who knew how to integrate them into the landscape to bring out their attractions. Their architecture is inspired by the region’s old farm shelters, made of wood, which protected agricultural equipment.

Each of these pavilions is unique and implanted in its environment. They also each have a particular theme. Some highlight local artists who lived or still live in the region, others immerse us in the history of the First Nations or that of Scottish immigrants who lived in the municipalities targeted by the itinerary. “We invite you to discover these stops, one after the other, at your own pace. Take the time to take a break to admire the landscape and discover the secrets of each of the places visited. It’s an immersive journey in our region with its best-kept secrets that we offer you with the Panoramic Sheds Circuit,” explains Julie Pomerleau, cultural development officer at the CLD du Haut-Saint-François.

150 kilometers of circuit

The shed Dudswell is the ninth and final on the circuit, and was added this year. Located on the shore of Lake Adolphe, in the municipality of Dudswell, it invites you to a moment of relaxation and tranquility. Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the history of the builders and creators of the municipality thanks to the signs that tell their story. Discover the works of local artists thanks to the many photos of the indoor mini-exhibition. Immerse yourself in the world of artist Éva Tanguay, star of American vaudeville, through magnificent photos that bear witness to her career. Art lovers, revel in reproductions of works by visual artists Stewart Main and his daughter Wendy. Take a short break afterwards to soak up the bucolic landscape while enjoying a flight on the swing installed directly on the shed.

Travel the 150 km of the Panoramic Sheds Circuit, or just part of it, by car or bike, and discover unique landscapes, witnesses to the development of the region’s municipalities over time. A walk rich in emotions that will appeal to outdoor enthusiasts as well as lovers of history and culture.
