Equestrian sports
Colleen Loach placed fourth with a score of 28.6 Friday in the dressage test. In the dressage team competition, she was paired with Michael Winter, Lindsay Traisnel and Karl Slezak. The Canadian team took second place at 93.5. The United States finished first at 79.8, while Brazil finished third.
Whitewater canoeing
Kayaker Florence Maheu was unable to qualify for the kayak cross semi-finals on Friday at Rio Acuncagua. She posted a time of 56.11 seconds in qualifying, which placed her in seventh place, 3.46 seconds behind Brazilian Ana Satila who finished first.
Eight competitors will advance to the next round, but only one representative per country could obtain their ticket.
The semi-finals and finals will take place on Sunday. Canadian Lois Betteridge will be in action.

Yanka Vasileva and Tugrul Ozer joined forces in the mixed 10m air pistol event. The Canadian duo placed sixth with a score of 566.
The two Mexican teams faced each other in the grand final and it was team #2 who had the last word with a score of 16-8. The Americans blanked the Brazilians 16-0 to clinch the bronze medal.
