The owner’s tour | In the heart of Charlevoix nature

“When you enter the house, you are directly in the river,” says Maryse Dussault. My son told me it looked like the house built in the trees. Our windows give the impression that they are in the house. »

A love story is at the origin of this house in Les Éboulements. “My spouse lived, like me, in Quebec, but worked in Charlevoix, says Ms.me Dussault. I was single. My children were in Quebec. I moved to Charlevoix to be with my spouse. We decided to build. When I saw the landscape, at Domaine Charlevoix, I had big chills. It’s so beautiful. »

The property is in a cul-de-sac, 10 km from Baie-Saint-Paul and 30 km from Le Massif ski resort. “In eight minutes, we are in downtown Baie-Saint-Paul,” says Maryse Dussault. The house was built in 2019, in a contemporary style suitable for its location in the heart of nature, opposite Île aux Coudres.

“We did the design and chose the materials taking inspiration from several houses, says Mme Dussault. We wanted to have large windows to enjoy the landscape and really be in nature. »

I think we bought the most beautiful piece of land on the estate. We have no house in front of us, and there will never be neighbors to block our view. In the evening, when L’Isle-aux-Coudres and the South Shore are lit up, it looks like a postcard.

15 km of hiking trails

The house has been designed so that the sun is a daily partner. From the master bedroom, you can watch her get up. “At the end of the day, you can see L’Isle-aux-Coudres lit up,” says Maryse Dussault. And the moonlights are beautiful. The light of the moon is reflected in the water and then enters the house. The lights are turned off and the interior is then all lit by the moon. »

The 4800 m plot2 is wooded. Owners have access to 15 km of hiking trails, cross-country ski trails and a lake with a sandy beach. “It’s magnificent in summer and winter,” says Maryse Dussault. We see animals. We saw a bear two years ago. There are deer, lots of birds. From supper time, the birds sing at the same time. It’s like being in the jungle so it’s wonderful. »

From their house, occupants can see cruise ships, the local ferry and merchant marine vessels. “It’s magic,” said M.me Dussault. I love hearing the ship sirens when it’s a bit foggy. »

The house is nice. With an area of 124 m2, it has 12 rooms, including 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The ceiling is 15 ft in the “cathedral” part. The rooms are bright. The master bedroom is extended by a glass roof. “We go to bed looking at the stars and in the morning we see the sun rising,” says Ms.me Dussault.

Owners must sell their property for health reasons. ” That’s life. We will still stay in Baie-Saint-Paul where we have the best of both worlds. We will miss the house and the well-being it provides. The location, there are no two like it. It’s going to make my heart ache. »
