The prefect of police of Paris reviewed his copy. On Monday, January 17, he issued a new decree listing the places and circumstances in which the wearing of a mask is compulsory outdoors in Paris, after the suspension on Friday by the administrative court of the obligation to wear it everywhere in the capital.

In a statement posted on Twitter, Didier Lallement explains that“in order to comply with the decision of the administrative court”, the new decree “imposes the wearing of a mask compulsory in a series of circumstances and places in which the density of the population does not guarantee, without wearing a mask, the proper respect of barrier gestures”.

The obligation to wear a mask is thus imposed on markets, flea markets, garage sales, in gatherings, demonstrations “of 10 or more people”, at bus and tram stops, around railway stations and shopping center entrances, during their opening hours, around schools and universities, when the public enters and leaves, around places of worship and in the queues.

Similar decrees are taken in each of the departments of the Ile-de-France region.
