“Faced with the current situation, the Orchester symphonique de Montréal finds itself obliged to postpone with regret two events: Rafael Payare and the lyricism of Bruckner, scheduled for January 12 and 13, and Youth and Creativity, from Mozart to the OSM Competition, scheduled for January 16, ”writes the orchestra. New dates will be announced later. The January 12 concert was also to be postponed, of course.

Concerts Brahms and Mahler, between hope and resignation, scheduled for January 19 and 20, are canceled. “Customers will of course be reached by customer service,” specifies the OSM in its press release sent to the media.

As a consolation, the OSM is offering free webcast, until January 31, the first concert conducted by its new musical director, maestro Rafael Payare, on January 10, 2021.

This concert, broadcast live last year, included two works: the Symphony No.1 in C minor, Op. 68 of Brahms and, as an appetizer, The Roman Carnival, Overture, op. 9 by Berlioz.
