Two years after the appearance of the Covid-19 pandemic, the definition of long Covid is still not established. Several months after infection, patients still encounter great difficulties in their daily lives. The France 3 teams collected the testimony of a patient in Annecy.

Annabelle Georges was one of the first to contract Covid-19. Today, she is still not healed. At 39, certain everyday actions have become impossible. “We no longer have a life, it’s a lifeless life, we can no longer do anything, we are disabled”, she testifies. His parents visit him days in order to help him. “We are too worried. When you have your child, at 36 years old who suddenly sinks with this virus …”, confides Christine, his mother. They also support him financially, because his medical expenses are not all reimbursed. He has to spend 1,000 euros per month on average.

Annabelle Georges is fighting to have the long Covid recognized as a disease. She wrote a book, and founded an association. “They have to be taken care of. It’s my daily life to fight so that we are recognized”, she explains. The disease is difficult to diagnose, and the journey is long. The number of patients suffering from a long Covid is still unknown. They could be between 500,000 and 2 million in France.
