Opposition parties on Wednesday called for an investigation by the Chief Electoral Officer into a new financing cocktail from the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) where municipal elected officials were invited to meet a government minister, in the Bas-Saint region. -Laurent.

The Parti Québécois (PQ) and the Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ) felt that light must be shed on this activity that occurred in the riding of Rivière-du-Loup-Témiscouata last fall.

The Montreal Journal reported Wednesday that the mayor and general manager of the municipality of Saint-Louis-du-Ha-Ha were illegally reimbursed for a political contribution paid on the occasion of this fundraising cocktail, in the presence of the Minister of Municipal Affairs , Andrée Laforest.
