In Marseille, the opening of a shooting room in the city center worries local residents. Martine Vassal, the president of the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolis, wants consultation to find a new location.
New episode in the project of “stop care and addictions”, known as “room of shoot”, in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône). Martine Vassal, president of the metropolis of Aix-Marseille-Provence, callse mayor of the city, Benoît Payan, to give up its establishment, boulevard of the Liberation. She wants a consultation to find a new location. “Let’s stop this madness. Let’s stop of make a peaceful neighborhood a neighborhood where there will be ofs drug addicts who will be on the streets”she comments.
Controversial project
The project, announced in October, caused a wave of CONTESTATION. Cohabitation with 5,000 students attending school in the neighborhood is worrying. Ofs information meetings were organized by the town hall to reassure residents. According to Michèle Rubirola, first deputy at Marseille town hall, drug addicts and children ofshould not cross paths, since “ofs mediators of street will pick up drug addicts to accompany them” up to the roomThen “will then drive them out of the neighborhood”. The project must be validated by signature ofs ministries of health, of the Interior and of Justice.
