The only doctor in the village of Soudan, located near Châteaubriant in Loire-Atlantique, was indicted at the beginning of December, France Bleu Loire Océan reported on Wednesday January 17. He is suspected of “sexual assault by a person abusing the authority which gives him his function” on six patients, between February and December 2023, during consultations.
The Nantes public prosecutor’s office does not provide further details on the nature of the alleged facts. The doctor, aged 44, is placed under judicial supervision and no longer has the right to practice for the moment.
The suspect is the only general practitioner in the town of 2,000 inhabitants where he has worked for almost three years. Two retired doctors will take turns to meet the needs of residents. The mayor of Soudan claims to have not been informed and knows nothing about this affair.
