The start of the school year promises to be difficult for French companies. The meteoric spread of Covid-19 is disrupting the organization of work for some of them.

What to do when sick leaves linked to Covid-19 are increasing in companies in all sectors? In Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme), the bus service is forced to reduce its offer in the face of the spread of the virus among its employees: nearly 20% of drivers are absent. “Until now, we managed to cover the entire offer without difficulty and there unfortunately the rate of absence is too high”, explains one of them.

Same refrain in small businesses. Because of the absence of one of his employees, the boss of a Marseille real estate agency will have to change the whole organization. The sick leaves have exploded in the last two months. “Contact cases risk blocking company presence and there are jobs that cannot be teleworked”, recalls Bernard Cohen-Hadad, of the Confederation of SMEs of Ile-de-France.
