The Olympic champion placed under judicial supervision

Saturday, December 11, Yannick Agnel was indicted for rape and sexual assault on a minor under 15 years old. The custody of the former Olympic swimming champion ended in the afternoon after 48 hours but was placed under judicial supervision by the judge of freedoms and detention.

The prosecution had yet requested his placement in pre-trial detention, said the prosecutor of the Republic of Mulhouse, Edwige Roux-Morizot. She had specified to theAFP that a complaint was lodged last summer for facts dating back to “around 2016”. At the time, Yannick Agnel was training at the Mulhouse Olympic Natation (MON) under the leadership of Lionel Horter. According to information from France Inter, it is one of the daughters of his ex-trainer.

The 29-year-old young man, converted into e-sport and consultant in various media, was arrested Thursday at his Parisian home and taken to the Mulhouse (Alsace) police station.

I personally know the person who lodged the complaint so you can imagine that this is something that particularly touches me. The young girl’s complaint is now in the hands of justice, she must go to the end“, explained the Minister in charge of Sports Roxana Maracineanu to France Info.
As a reminder, Yannick Agnel was crowned double Olympic champion in London in 2012 over 200m and with the men’s 4x100m relay, then world champion in the same two races in 2013.
