the old post office building becomes a third place and a stopover gîte

The municipality of Flayat offers a second life in the old post office building. Located in front of the church, the room was completely renovated in recent months. From now on, it sports a very pretty facade of stones and wood. The interior has also been redesigned to accommodate new services. It was officially inaugurated on Tuesday, November 2, in the presence of many elected officials and the prefect of Creuse.

A ground floor dedicated to community life

The first level of the building will serve in particular as an extension to the Space Café. This associative café located in Flayat is labeled a third place. Part of its activities will now take place in the former post office. The coworking space and the reprography service thus moved into the refurbished building. Dedicated workshops families could also take place there.

All associations of the municipality will have access to this ground floor. They may in particular organize meetings there etc.

A stopover gîte upstairs

A small light wooden staircase leads upstairs. This second level has a completely different function. This is a stopover gîte : tourist accommodation intended for welcoming hikers or cycle tourists who usually only stay one night before continuing their trip.
