A window in the campaign office of incumbent Pontiac MP André Fortin was marked with black spray paint. Many signs, ranging from the Aylmer Marina to the Champlain Bridge, were also vandalized. You could read inscriptions such as “Fuck Trudeau”.

“The vandalism of signs is already criminal. The vandalism of a campaign office, where volunteers gather, sometimes accompanied by their children, is frankly intolerable. This is the first time in three campaigns that I have witnessed such an act,” he told The Press André Fortin.

“Our volunteers will not be intimidated. In fact, they are galvanized by the need to respond in a democratic way, by mobilizing our supporters and expressing their vision through their votes,” he added.

Since the beginning of the campaign, many signs, from all parties, have been vandalized, torn down or modified.

On Saturday, a Quebec Liberal Party sign was burned in the Robert-Baldwin riding in Dollard-des-Ormeaux. In response to the vandalism of the sign, the leader Dominique Anglade had invited voters on Sunday morning to “respect all the different parties”.
