Eyal Kalderon is the cousin of Ofer Kalderon, held hostage by Hamas. The children of Ofer, Erez, 12 years old, and Sahar, 16 years old, were released on Monday November 27. “I haven’t seen them yet, we’re still giving them a little more time (…) We’re impatiently waiting to see them, we’re very moved”, assures Eyal Kalderon, interviewed by 19/20 info, Tuesday November 28. The children’s mother tries to help them rebuild their lives. “This reconstruction process cannot continue without their father, Ofer, who has still been in the hands of Hamas for 53 days”indicates the hostage’s cousin.

“State obligation”

A demonstration took place on the evening of Tuesday, November 28, to demand the release of all men detained by Hamas. “The objective, the first priority must be the return of all the hostages, even if we are talking about an agreement which will be very expensive, there is no price for their freedom (…) this truce must continue”says Eyal Kalderon.

The truce is extended until Wednesday morning, but the families of the hostages are already planning for the future. “We must bring them all back, it is the obligation of the State towards its citizens”concludes Eyal Kalderon.
