The number of uninsured drivers involved in bodily accidents increased by 44% between 2017 and 2022, according to the barometer that the Victim Guarantee Fund will publish on Wednesday June 7 and to which franceinfo had access. More than 40% of these young people involved in an accident do not even have a driving license, notes the Guarantee Fund, which is launching its new prevention campaign on Wednesday June 7. His slogan : “Driving without insurance is the worst bet”. The organization therefore calls for more awareness, reinforced controls and cheaper insurance for young people.
The number of road accident victims covered by the Victim Guarantee Fund rose by 3.5% in 2022. It compensated 8,443 victims and relatives of 157 deceased persons. Which represents 107 million euros.
