The film set to end the life-and-death fight between masked killer Michael Myers and Laurie Strode, forty years after they first met, skimping on murders and blood spatters, has grossed $41.3 billion between Friday and Sunday, according to estimates by Exhibitor Relations.
Analysts expected a little better (around $50 million). But given that the film was released simultaneously in streaming and theaters, and cost just $30 million, it’s a “great” result, according to David Gross of franchise firm Franchise Entertainment Research.

The crocodile discovered by a little boy in his house in New York sings and enchants his new life in the megalopolis, with Javier Bardem in the skin of his extravagant owner.
The Woman Kinga historical epic of female warriors from the kingdom of Dahomey (West Africa) in the 19th century, starring Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis, remains in fourth place with 3.7 million dollars (59.8 million since its release).
amsterdamin which the characters played by Christian Bale, Margot Robbie and John David Washington find themselves embroiled in political intrigue in 1930s America, fell two places to fifth place, with $2.9 million in revenue ( 12 million since its release).
