On the Route du Rhum, Nice skipper Jean-Pierre Dickleader of the Mono Rum category, was confused by the race management this Sunday to rescue one of its competitors. Without news of the skipper Brieuc Maisonneuve, Jean-Pierre Dick went to recover him in the open sea. The navigator is safe and sound “despite some bruises” says the organizers.
Trapped in a violent gust of wind, Brieuc Maisonneuve is now heading for the Azores on Jean-Pierre Dick’s boat “Our Mediterranean – City of Nice”. It’s about twelfth retirement since the start of the race.
