To “salute the exceptional contribution to the Quebec recording and entertainment industry of their co-founder”, the 35are Francos de Montréal will be dedicated to Guy Latraverse, the organization announced Tuesday.
The death of Guy Latraverse left the entire artistic community in mourning. Among the countless achievements of the famous producer, who is considered the father of Quebec showbusiness, there is the FrancoFolies de Montréal – now the Francos – which he co-founded with Alain Simard and Jean-Louis Foulquier in 1989.
Guy Latraverse has been behind many important Francos shows over the decades, whether Party in Montreal in 1992, which closed the festivities of the 350e birthday, or The forest of the unloved symphonicwith Pierre Lapointe and the Orchester métropolitain in 2007.
“Associated with him for thirty exciting years, I had the chance to know his wonderful family who were his whole life, with his hard work of course! What a great pioneer-builder we are losing, but also what an endearing man, humble, generous and involved in his community,” declared Alain Simard in a press release.
The 35are Francos de Montréal will take place from June 14 to 22, 2024.
