The brash blood of his ancestor János Bihari – nicknamed “the king of Gypsy violinists” in the 19th century – runs through the veins of Roby Lakatos who joins the Orchestra, with his ensemble, to celebrate the arrival of 2022. His bow of fire twirls, has fun and dances in a program in the form of a joyful kaleidoscope, where Gypsy accents, incandescence of tango and symphonic pieces intersect. The opening of the Zigeunerbaron by Johann Strauss son dialogue, for example, with a few pages of Astor Piazzolla (notably the “tango-waltz” Bachin’s Chiquilin). The soundtrack of Tall Blond with a black shoe – masterpiece by Valdimir Cosma – responds to an excerpt from Violin on the roof, musical by Jerry Bock.
