Everything you need to prepare well!
Before starting a hike along the GR 2, the important thing, especially if you are a beginner, is to prepare your expedition well ! Our colleagues from Le Parisien have planned everything: from the most important to the most anecdotal! And it starts for example with good shoes : we avoid smooth and new shoes (otherwise, hello blisters)! If you don’t have hiking shoes, sneakers can do the trick! Hydration, choice of bag, finding your rhythm: Brigitte Soulary, President of the French Hiking Federation, gives you his 7 great tips for a safe hike !
The Seine: past, present and future!
Of course, how not to talk about the common point of the 16 stages of this GR 2: the Seine ! The one who starts her race at Langres in Haute-Marne to jump into Calvados has been the rhythm of French life for centuries! If she brings a important economic springit is also the symbol of a source of mistrust for many Ile-de-France residents: the centennial flood ! In 1910, the Seine came out of its bed (hey, that reminds us of a song) and forced Parisians to adapt by building makeshift bridges in particular. Its usefulness throughout history and its future with the 2024 Olympicscan be found in the columns of the Hors-Série du Parisien.

The Parisian walk also takes us to the rediscovery of our heritage ! Of the remarkable architecture present along the way contemporary art installationsyou will sail from era to era and from discovery to (re)discovery!
