This is a surprise for the fans. An unreleased track by Johnny Hallyday that has never been used before has appeared: The specialist will be included in a reissue of the album Life which dates from 1970.
Informed moviegoers probably know that the singer, who died on December 5, 2017, shot a western in 1969 which did not really go down in history. And his music either because it had remained forgotten, until these last days. In this film The specialist signed Sergio Corbucci, we can discover Johnny Hallyday in the title role: that of a gunslinger who wants to avenge his brother. It is in this context that he recorded this song of the same name.
“Like a vulture, it soars. Black as a cassock. Without a friend, always alone. Sad as a shroud… We call him the specialist. death is his job” sings Johnny. The lyrics are by Georges Aber, the same who wrote black is black. But, at the time, the production only kept the instrumental version for the film. Bands with the voice of the “youth idol” slept since at Universal.
So here they are exhumed more than fifty years later to join some alternative versions of already known titles, all backed by the reissue of this album Life. It features four CDs including the original album as well as a recording of a 1970 concert and commercials.
