The Civil Society in turmoil. The new president of the independent commission on incest and sexual violence against children, Sébastien Boueilh, announced his resignation on Thursday February 8, a few days after taking office, considering himself “the target of slander and personal attacks”. This is the second member of the new Ciivise to distance himself, after the “totally withdrawn” Wednesday from its vice-president, Caroline Rey-Salmon, who is the target of a complaint for sexual assault in her past activities as a doctor. Sébastien Boueilh brought him his “support”.

“The commission has been the subject of controversies which do not allow the serenity necessary to carry out its missions”declares the former rugby player in a press release. “Concerned above all about the best interests of children, and particularly child victims of incest and sexual violence, wanting the commission to be able to continue its work in a favorable climate, I have made the decision to leave my position as president of the Ciivise”writes the president of the Colossus with Feet of Clay association.

The government “takes note of the resignation” And “will bring together stakeholders in the sector in the coming weeks to study the follow-up to the commission”reacted the Ministry of Health.
