In Dakar (Senegal), the historic victory in the first round of Bassirou Diomaye Faye sounds like an opportunity for young people. “In terms of justice, education, health, it’s a change that we want”, explains Cheikh Lo, tailor in the Dakar market. “A friendly country, a safe and reliable ally”
During his first speech, the new president of Senegal wanted to reassure his allies. “Senegal will always hold its place. It will remain a friendly country, a safe and reliable ally of any partner who engages with us in virtuous cooperation”, he then announced. However, Bassirou Diomaye Faye is already promising the renegotiation of mining, gas and oil contracts concluded with foreign companies, and an exit from the CFA franc.
