The New Popular Front has “agreed” on the principle of a single candidacy for the presidency of the Assembly, announces Olivier Faure

Within the coalition of the New Popular Front, “We agree on a single candidacy for the perch [la présidence de l’Assemblée nationale]assured the number one of the PS Olivier Faure on Tuesday July 6. “I will not give a name at this stage, but we will have one name,” he added during a press briefing. “These are the group presidents [EELV, LFI, PCF et PS] who negotiate” to replace the outgoing Macronist president, the PS boss also recalled.

Discussions have also resumed between the Insoumis and the PS for the designations of positions at Matignon, specified Olivier Faure. “Contacts have resumed between the two sides on all subjects”he assured. In the impasse to find a common name for the post of Prime Minister, France Insoumise had asked the leaders of the New Popular Front on Monday to concentrate as a priority on a single candidate for the perch. “It’s fluid everywhere (…) Everything is coordinated, there are no real differences between one and the other”added the first secretary of the PS.
