The Omicron variant continues to spread around the world. It has become a large majority in the United States.
The Omicron variant is now widely dominant in the United States. According to US health officials, about 73% of new infections in the country are from the new variant. A figure that was only 12% last week. Faced with this explosion of cases, many companies have to close their doors. President Joe Biden is currently considering no confinement in the country, but is due to speak on Tuesday, December 21 to take stock of the health situation.
Other countries have already made the choice to curb Omicron. In the United Kingdom, it was the mayor of London who announced yesterday the cancellation of all New Year’s festivities.
