The new MLS jerseys, from the ugliest to the most beautiful

Let’s give MLS credit: it’s a dynamic, energetic and daring league. The jerseys of its teams reflect this enthusiasm well. Several of them are among the most spectacular, all sports combined. Afterwards, sometimes, if you push yourself too hard, the glass can break… Here is a list of the new jerseys in the league, from the ugliest to the most beautiful.

I guess after Lorenzo Insigne’s contract, there wasn’t enough money left in the petty cash to hire a designer.

25. Real Salt Lake

Your name is Real and you pastiche the FC Barcelona jersey? No. No no no no no. In addition, the Adidas logo and that of the club are not harmonized with the mountain peaks. Missed.

23. Houston Dynamo

Dynamo’s crime is not wearing the most unloved color in sport. It’s having chosen TWO shades of purple: one for the jersey, another for the collar, the sleeves and the logo. Match your purples!

From now on, it gets better. Here, a refined jersey, enhanced by triangular patterns on the sleeves. Sophisticated. I like.

21. Los Angeles Galaxy

After two years of absence, the diagonal line is back subliminally, in white, on a striped background. Noble. Elegant. Aristocratic.

Always black and gold. Very LA You don’t change a winning formula.

19. Seattle Sounders

I’ve always loved Sounders jerseys. It’s a club that dares, both with patterns and colors. This one, on the other hand, is less successful than the previous ones. I would have preferred an electric green rather than a wilted celery shade.

A retro look, simple and effective. Wear with Stan Smith shoes.

17. St. Louis City SC

The waves formed by the gray lines are a nod to the crossing of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. Well thought.

16. Colorado Rapids

If not good, the Rapids are well dressed.

15. Nashville SC

Even at the Tour de France, we don’t make such beautiful jerseys. The blue band, horizontally, highlights the logo well.

14. DC United

I’ve never been a big fan of DC United’s black jerseys, but I like this one. The gray pattern is a reminder of the silhouette of the Frederick-Douglass Bridge, located a block from the team’s stadium.

13. Atlanta United

For its away jersey, the team adopts the colors of the city flag – yellow and blue. The design also incorporates Atlanta’s emblematic bird, the phoenix, which symbolizes rebirth.

12. New England Revolution

A tribute to the Boston Tea Party. The dotted lines represent the ripples created in Boston Harbor when 45 tons of tea were dumped by the revolutionaries. Pretty.

11. Chicago Fire

Lovers of sky blue lines. Enough to inspire the Montreal Canadiens for a future alternative jersey.

10. InterMiami

Like LAFC, Inter Miami sticks to its unique color palette, which suits it well. A big plus: the logo of sponsor Royal Caribbean is much more aesthetic than that of the club’s former partner, XBTO, a cryptocurrency specialist.

9. New York City FC

This jersey, called 24/7, represents the “constant hustle, bustling nightlife and dynamic energy” of New York, with neon colors on a black background. It does it. It’s going to sell like hot little bagels.

8. Vancouver Whitecaps

The Whitecaps celebrate their 50th^e anniversary with a golden retro badge. Simple. Classic. Gorgeous.

7. Charlotte FC

This jersey shows the different layers of the Carolina landscape, from the ocean to the mountains. In the background, a subtle pattern is reminiscent of a topographical map. Bright. On the other hand, the different shades of blue could prove distracting when the opponent also plays in blue, like CF Montreal.

6. New York Red Bulls

Their third jersey from last season, covered in graffiti, was spectacular. This one is just as much, with its distinctive zebra lines, which embody energy and movement.

5. CF Montreal

The blue vertical stripe, on the heart side, symbolizes the main artery of the metropolis, Saint-Laurent Boulevard. The background color, pale blue, is reminiscent of the river. At the bottom of the sweater, we find the five symbols of the city flag. It is the most beautiful secondary jersey in the club’s history.

4. Sporting Kansas City

For 10 years, Sporting has tested horizontal stripes, vertical stripes, grid patterns, picots as well as a plain background. Of all, this model with diamonds is the most successful. Two pieces of robot for the integration of the club and Adidas logos.

3. Minnesota United

A computer wallpaper? A mouse pad? Rather, it is a tribute to the Minnesota sky, as well as the state motto, “L’Étoile du Nord” (in French in the text). A proposition that is as garish as it is daring and unique.

An original sweater, which reflects the identity of Portland and Oregon. The sponsor’s butterfly is very well integrated into the design. A job well done. Well done !

1. Philadelphia Union

The Union has long worn a broad centralized vertical gold band. This hatched, stylized, modernized version, stamped with the logo, is simply perfect. Take my money!
