the new measures taken by the government are “stupid” and “liberticidal”, from the point of view of the National Assembly

The announcements made by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health on Monday, December 27, are “both stupid and liberticidal”, declared on franceinfo this Monday evening the spokesperson for the National Rally. Laurent Jacobelli denounces in particular the transformation of the health pass into a vaccination pass, which, according to him, is not “absolutely no guarantee against spread” of Covid-19. He ensures that the RN deputies will vote elsewhere “vs” this bill to the National Assembly and considers that the government has made unvaccinated “scapegoats” to hide “a form of incompetence” on his part.

Franceinfo: What did the National Rally think of the new government announcements?

Laurent Jacobelli: There are both stupid announcements and liberticidal announcements. Stupid because we start over with measures that nobody understands. We will have the right to drink a coffee sitting down, but we will no longer have the right to drink it standing. We are going to put gauges on a wet finger for theaters and stadiums, without even taking the total capacity of the hall. In short, we are starting over with these measures which will be incomprehensible and often even inapplicable.

But above all, the most serious thing is that we transform the health pass into a vaccination pass, that is to say that the government insists on absolutely wanting to make a vaccination policy to fight against the pandemic. However, we know today that even vaccinated, we can catch and transmit the virus. So this vaccination pass is absolutely no guarantee against its spread. But the government has made of it an ideological weapon to which it absolutely insists, even if it means making unvaccinated French people, second-class French, which is not acceptable in a state governed by the rule of law.

This [lundi] evening, so unfortunately nothing new, a lot of stubbornness and too few helpful measures, like putting a moratorium on closing beds, like asking hospital staff who have been suspended to come back to work if they test negative , such as providing air purifiers in classrooms or public places. All this, we have not heard of.

“The government is stubborn. It is hunting down the unvaccinated as if this could be the alpha and omega of its policy.”

This bill on the vaccine pass will arrive at the Assembly from this Wednesday. Are you going to oppose it?

Marine Le Pen has effectively requested that there be a waiver on the part of the government on this vaccination pass. In any case, if she is elected President of the Republic, of course, she will abrogate this pass and our deputies in the National Assembly will effectively vote against. Because you have to understand that there was a pact between the French and the government. The government asked the French to be vaccinated, in exchange for which they would once again have the freedom of movement, to live normally, to be able to move around without a mask. However, we see today that even vaccinated with two, three and perhaps even tomorrow four doses, it is necessary to wear the mask. You have to get tested, you have to carry around with a pass. In short, the government has not fulfilled its part of the contract. Is it a lie, a lack of preparation? We do not know. In any case, today, the situation is no longer tenable and we cannot live with this sword of Damocles every day on our individual freedoms. So, I repeat, the government is not doing the work to fundamentally reform the hospital.

The Prime Minister declared on Monday evening that he understood that the announced measures could cause a form of fed up, but that the government only seek to “protect” the French. What do you think ?

I believe that it is from this government that we must be protected today, because I am not sure who we are protecting with this vaccination pass. It is better to have a negative test a few hours ago, rather than having been vaccinated two months ago, to not be carrying the virus. So all of this doesn’t make sense. The government has looked for scapegoats, who are the unvaccinated once again, to hide its inability to reform the hospital, its inability to afford it and take common sense measures, such as the return of free tests. for all which would be a measure, I believe, essential. But today, the unvaccinated must pay for their tests. So there is a health divide in France, with people who are put on the side of society, to hide a form of government incompetence.
