The butcher Yves-Marie Le Bourdonnec counted Johnny Hallyday among his most loyal customers, and today the Mbappé family or the chefs of the greatest restaurants. He decided to leave Paris to save a business in Nièvre, in Bouhy.

Since June 2022, the butcher’s shop in the small town of Bouhy (Nièvre) has changed owners. Yves-Marie Le Bourdonnec took over. After 35 years in the business, he has kept the desire for the beginnings. “I’m not jaded at all, I love what I do”, he assures. Owner of a secondary residence in the surroundings, he settled there and bought the butcher’s shop in the village, threatened with closure.

Save the life of the village

A relief for customers. “We lost this butcher shop, it was a bit like the death of the village. We are very happy to welcome Yves-Marie, very happy to welcome a star butcher”, says a local resident. Yves-Marie Le Bourdonnec has establishments in the most beautiful districts of Paris, and an upscale clientele. “We serve all the big French stars in Paris”, recalls the butcher. The change of scenery did not slow him down, he who fell in love with this terroir. In addition to the butcher’s shop, he also took over the bar and the gas station.
