The new Kung Fu Panda tops the North American box office

(Los Angeles) The new animated film Kung Fu Panda 4 established itself at the top of the North American box office, dethroning the second part of Dunewhich however crossed the symbolic mark of 150 million dollars one week after its release, according to estimates on Sunday from the specialist firm Exhibitor Relations.


The martial arts comedy from DreamWorks and Universal, which stars the endearing panda Po, grossed $58.3 million in its first weekend of release.

In third place: the horror film Imaginary accumulates 10 million dollars in revenue, an amount almost equivalent to its – low – cost of production. Actress DeWanda Wise plays Jessica, who returns to her childhood home and sees her stepdaughter discover her childhood stuffed toy Chauncey – a teddy bear who is actually not endearing.

Angel Studios’ new religious drama, titled Cabrini, follows, with 7.6 million dollars. The film traces the life of Mother Frances Cabrini, a Catholic nun canonized after her death, in 19th century New York.e century. The nun is played on screen by Italian actress Cristiana Dell’Anna.

Finally, the biopic Bob Marley: One Love on the reggae legend, dropped to fifth place. The feature film about the wildly successful Jamaican singer who died suddenly in 1981, played by British actor Kingsley Ben-Adir, grossed $4.1 million over the weekend.
